I was inspired in writing this book after reading the story of The Young Rich Ruler from the Holy Bible. Daniel Halbrook is a young middleaged man living in an exquisite condominium in Manhattan, New York—SandCastle. Living in SandCastle, along with the trappings of money, women and status has created an underlying euphoria in him—an exultation earned by managing three of the top restaurants in Manhattan, New York. This accomplishment appreciated even the more so as Daniel came from humble beginnings. All was euphorically status quo until experiences he could only attribute to the hand of God challenged his purpose in life. If God asks you to give up your riches to go spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, would you do it? Not for salvation, just because God asked you to—just for The Kingdom—for treasures in heaven. If we could repeat the story of The Young Rich Ruler would we get it right this time? Let’s explore this question together through the life of Daniel Halbrook!
